Week in Review 28 August 2015
We have noticed a lot of gift card, competition and freebie style email scams when going over our week in review. As usual, there was no shortage of malicious emails to report on! Let’s get straight into taking a brief look at this week’s scam email roundup – links to full articles are also available below. Delete these emails from your inbox if received or risk a malware infection or phishing attempt.
Free Nivea Products Email Scam
Everyone loves a freebie, but don’t fall for this free Nivea product email scam. It asks you to answer 2 simple questions to qualify and encourages you to click through to a malicious website. It is in no way associated or related to the Nivea brand so delete it from your inbox.
MYER Gift Card Email Scam
Yet another gift card scam was caught by filters this week claiming you will receive a $1000 Myer gift card if you click through to the website. It’s very outdated in terms of branding and has clear signs of its malicious nature. Delete this email straight away.
Oral B Pro Testers Email Scam
This Oral B Pro testers wanted email scam offers an electronic toothbrush to test and keep. It has 4 malicious links and even includes the receiver’s email address to make it more convincing. Don’t click anywhere in this email and delete it from your inbox – it will infect your computer with malware.
