Phishing E-mail Campaign Targets Illinois Tollway
According to a warning to users of Illinois Tollway (Illinois USA) dated 6th March 2015, one phishing scam is doing the rounds that dispatches fake e-mails to I-Pass customers supposedly from “E-ZPass Support” asking to clear faulty payments related to unmet tolls, published chicago.suntimes.com dated March 6, 2015.
It maybe noted that E-ZPass comprises 26 toll-collecting organizations within fifteen states of which Illinois Tollway is one, responsible for collecting tolls electronically.

Abrams says somebody acquired general e-mails that he subsequently spoofed as if they took on an E-ZPass website while threatening about unpaid tolls.
She, however, stressed that there had been no hacking of I-Pass data. Hitherto, there had been reports of such e-mails from 27 customers to her agency.
